We’re Hiring! Community and Content Manager

ruckus Digital is seeking a Community and Content Manager to join a vibrant and independent communications agency with amazing clients such as DoorDash, Roku, RE/MAX, New Balance, Ubisoft, and Walmart.

In this role, you will oversee all client social media brand pages, working closely with our Account Managers and Social Strategists, as well integrating with our sister agency APEX PR, to assist creating content, manage our social media channels, and helping to build online and offline communities to help shape our client’s brand identity. In this role you’ll use your extensive knowledge of social media, the latest trends, and creativity to elevate campaign and brand strategies for our clients. You’ll play a crucial role in the overall success of our agency and our client’s brands.

What you’ll do:

• Work with social strategists and client in the creation of original and dynamic content for several social platforms according to the strategies implemented for each brand within portfolio

• Develop copy for content calendars and assist in the production of content for channels (using Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator)

• Conduct social media monitoring on a daily basis, and proactively highlight opportunities for deeper engagement and interaction

• Collaborate on regular performance reporting, providing perspective on nuances of results

• Manage crisis situations quickly and effectively on different social platforms

• Organize and execute social media contests to boost audience interaction

• Manage translation requests for strategists

• Contribute insights to the development of content strategies based on audience insights and trends seen on client channels

• Ability to decipher information using data & measurement tools and contribute to monthly reporting alongside the social strategist

• Take an active role in fostering a culture of continual learning, taking risks without the fear of making mistakes.

What we are looking for:

• 2-3 years of professional experience with community management/social media platforms – agency experience preferred, but not required.

• Experience and knowledge with Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

• Graphic design or multimedia editing skills are an asset

• Remain on the pulse of social media trends, ecosystem changes, and best practices

• Ability to translate direction from internal leadership and external clients into social media deliverables.

• Experience with Canva, Photoshop, Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Meltwater, or equivalent social management platforms

• Copywriting experience

• Experience with Microsoft programs, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent time management skills, you know how to juggle multiple projects at once and you’re comfortable moving from one brand to the next

• Must have a university degree, or college diploma, in a relevant field such as marketing, business, public relations, communications, and/or have equivalent work experience

Location:

We have a hybrid work model, and this role will be required to be in the office 2-3 days a week at our office at Bloor and Church. You may need to also work onsite at events or a client’s location.

Compensation:

APEX/ruckus offers a competitive benefits package and this role has a salary range of $55,000-75,000 depending on level of experience. APEX Public Relations/ruckus Digital is seeking a Digital Intern Coordinator, Community Management & Copywriting to join a vibrant and independent communications agency. You will be responsible for helping us develop content for our amazing clients through engaging copy, exciting creative, and monitoring/managing brand social channels. The role will include calendar management/development (writing social post captions and selecting relevant post visuals), content scheduling and publishing, content monitoring/engagement (responding to inquiries and engaging within comments), and strategic social listening.

What you’ll do:

  • Bring content calendars to life in collaboration with the ruckus Digital Team.
  • Adopt brand language and tone of voice, and represent brands across all public-facing channels (including but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Write compelling and on-strategy copy for always-on social channels.
  • Manage online communities across multiple accounts concurrently.
  • Schedule, monitor and respond to social media posts and the community, escalating issues to the appropriate stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist with report development to help guide how to adjust content to optimize for strong results.
  • Keep informed on social platform updates and changes and their applications and identify opportunities for our clients to jump on trending content.
  • Celebrate diversity of thought and have an open mindset.
  • Take an active role in fostering a culture of continual learning, taking risks without the fear of making mistakes.

What we are looking for:

  • 1 year writing and community management experience; strong writing portfolio preferred.
  • Education in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
  • Experience drafting social posts, working with editorial and content calendars.
  • Agility and adaptability to pivot priorities—no two working days are the same.
  • Proficiency of social media listening and publishing tools such as Sprout Social.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm to learn and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cultural trends and brands on social.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability.

Innate desire to share knowledge to help others grow (peers, community).

Hiring: Senior Digital Media Strategist

Position Overview and Responsibilities

As a Senior Digital Media Strategist at ruckus Digital, you understand the nuances and complexities of digital marketing and communication. You’re equal parts strategist and opportunist. You’re able to take client goals and translate them into executable tactics that make sense in a social environment. You have a strong understanding of the nuances between major and emerging social platforms and how to identify the right fit for client campaigns. And you understand how social media fits into the broader communications mix and can make and execute on recommendations that tie into a larger marketing strategy.

But above all, you’re a team player, creative thinker, and passionate about all thing digital.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with account teams and clients to develop and execute digital strategies to best reach target audiences
  • Contribute towards paid strategy development and execution, including SEM, social media, programmatic, influencer, display, and native advertising
  • Work with internal teams to implement owned, earned and paid activations and ensure they stay on strategy (i.e. monthly content calendar creation, community management efforts, creative asset development)
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of strategic projects and deliverables
  • Ensure copy and creative assets match up to a client’s voice, tone and brand guidelines Proactively manage clients’ budgets and paid media spends
  • Identify reactive opportunities to capitalize on trending topics or content formats for clients
  • Ability to report on KPIs, while contributing meaningful insights based on data
  • Contribute towards the evolution of the agency’s roster of digital offering
  • Working with and mentoring junior staff

Key Qualifications:

  • 5 + years’ experience in social and digital media strategy
  • Experience working in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Experience detecting, communicating and mitigating potential negative or crisis situations
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing, with the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills including writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Project management skills, including the ability to create and adhere to timelines and schedules
  • Experience with Sprout Social, Canva or back-end of social platforms for campaign management is valued.

What you’ll do

What you have

  • A minimum of 8+ years of Digital/PR/Marketing experience (Ideally in a client service role in a digital agency environment, as well as account and people management experience)
  • Self-motivated with quantifiable success in new business development and/or retaining and growing client portfolios
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and business principles
  • Proven success leading team-based projects
  • Strong understanding of the current media landscape (especially digital and social) and understand how to apply that understanding to holistic and integrated solutions for brands
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills: time-management, working to critical paths, budgeting, delegating, facilitating meetings, multi-tasking, attention to detail, follow up, etc.
